Step 2

I refined my simple outline and began to delineate the fur markings upon the body of the guinea pig.

Step 3

Using a 2B pencil, I shaded the darker fur markings. I darkened the eye, remembering to leave a small highlight.

Step 4

Using an even softer 4B pencil, I added darker textural lines to the shaded fur, which began to convey the direction of the hairs of the animal’s coat. I then softly shaded some fur texture in the white areas of the body, bringing the drawing together and uniting the light and dark areas of the body.
